Throughout this entire historical moment, I’ve found the best way to ease anxiety is to make an action plan. Even if that plan only gets you through this week, determining next steps and distracting your focus from the negatives is what has gotten me through the rough patches and kept me optimistically motivated.

I can thank my husband for starting this tradition because it’s taught my children to appreciate the small things in life. What’s wonderful about this is that none of us talk about material things. We talk about our small moments of gratitude that we are experiencing everyday because we so badly miss human interaction, events, parties and some of the things we may have taken for granted in the past. That’s a good parenting moment, right?
