Sometimes I wish Lisa had permanent residency in my home. On those challenging days when nothing seems to be going right, I would take solace in the fact that Lisa would have a mean cocktail waiting for me as soon as the clock turned happy hour. This girl knows how to whip up a strong drink and not just one...but an entire collection of craft cocktails!

I am so excited to be partnering with Lands' End on a special summer initiative regarding our littles...because let's face it, we all want to keep them entertained but we often forget that fun doesn't mean a three-ring circus daily. Sometimes it's about revisiting the basics. By basics I am referring to keeping learning fun and ensuring that they stay fresh as a new school year approaches. Hard to even wrap our heads around, right?

Every turn resulted in some sort of cultural surprise that I am quite sure I'll never be able to replicate again. The little details make writing these posts so challenging because one detail missed makes the story incomplete...I'll do my best!
If you missed it, I am recapping my trip to Guadalajara here: Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3. My group included: Jen, Janet, Ericka, me, Corri and Helen.

Outside of this one hour it's birthday parties and errand running and special events...like every family in America. While we do spend a lot of time together as a family, it's not until a delicious dinner is in front of us that we actually pause and have conversation. Kind of crazy that it takes six days to get to that but I suppose that will be our new norm.
Cucina Paradiso is home to some of the best, authentic Italian cuisine here in Chicagoland.

Day 3 was one for the books. We experienced our biggest surprise yet...as if this trip couldn't get any better. We woke up to our usual program and were dressed and ready to go early. We knew one thing and that was that we were going to tequila country to learn and tour for the day. No complaints there. But how we were getting there was the big question mark.
Read MoreI've partnered with Woodfield Mall again but this time the focus has slightly shifted...we're talking all things DAD! Yes...even dear old dad deserves a day to himself. <don't we all?> The girls and I headed out last weekend to get our shop on and shopping we did, indeed, accomplish. Might I add that we took several 100 breaks for various reasons ranging from the bathroom to snacks to toy stores and beyond BUT we completed our mission.
Note to self: Train daughters to build some shopping stamina!
