Why now? Dealing With IBS

I am nearing the end of a glorious nine day vacation in paradise. One day, we sleepily shuffled to breakfast complete with bed head and cobwebs, my oldest daughter looked up at me and asked, “When did you know you had IBS?” It’s a fair question. Freeze the fat!

If you’ve been following me long enough, you know a few facts about me:

  1. I work out quite a bit and it makes me a more sane person.

  2. My time is very limited because family first!

  3. I have IBS and am allergic to gluten and dairy.

  4. I have two beautiful children and I am in my 40’s.

  5. The area of my body that I struggle with the most <both physically and mentally> is my stomach.

Going gluten free. Products I actually LOVE to eat + why.

Let me start by saying that I am not a physician. Not even close. But I can say that for almost 37 years I struggled with food, digestion and the feeling it left me. I have a great relationship with food. I love it and I love to try new things BUT gluten and I were never meant to be friends and that epiphany hit roughly two years ago when I grew tired of the bloat, the gas, the bathroom issues and the overall appearance of looking like I was in my second trimester 24/7.
