5 ways to stay stylish.

We're in that funky time of year in which getting dressed seems more like a chore then a creative way to exhibit your style. I know, I'm there myself. It occurs the same time every year. But! It doesn't have to be that way. Developing your signature style can get you through just about any style stump which begs the question…what is my signature style?

Turns out through a casual poll of friends and family - my style is pretty definitive. Here is what they had to say:

Stylish Sneakers:

2016 was the year I fell back in love with the sneaker. Not just any sneakers though. I'm not talking Dolly Parton workin' 9 to 5 kinda sneakers. I'm talking stylish kicks that compliment your outfit in every way, the piece de resistance', if you will. I now have a collection and my favorites are in this order: Adidas Shell Toe, Gold Nike Airs, Pink Metallic Zara Sneaks and finally, my beloved Converse All Stars. Invest my friends - let's keep this trend going!

Distressed Denim:

I never met a pair of distressed jeans I didn't like. I guess I've amassed quite the collection. One rule though: they have to have stretch. Through the course of a day with my girls, I feel like an acrobat stretching to get fallen napkins, Shopkins under restaurant booths, paint little piggies…the list goes on. That doesn't even account for work situations that arise such as crouching on the ground for a photo shoot or picking up a case of wine for a meeting. Dress it up with a blazer or down with a rocker tee. Trust that great fitting denim is the answer to most of life's problems.

The Printed Dress:

It wasn't until recently that I realized the far majority of my wardrobe was dresses. I guess I can be lazy and there's nothing like a one-stop shop outfit! Throw it over your head, add shoes and walk out the door. Bonus: you'll look pulled together no matter what! Here's another fun fact: no one will ever be able to guess the price range. I grab dresses from all over including but not limited to Topshop, H&M, Asos and beyond.

The Signature Pink Lip:

I'm rarely without lipstick. Matte lipstick that is! So much so that I don't feel fully dressed until it's on and I would stop at any length to schemer my signature lip on including stoplights, mirrors I pass by, side mirrors on cars…you name it. It's just me - always has been. And yes, I am still hunting and testing new brands. It's an addiction.

The Classic White Button Down:

It wasn't until about two years ago that I developed an incredibly strong love for white button down shirts. Not all are created equal. While some reach for their favorite tee in a style pinch…I am forever reaching for a white shirt. I have many. I am the ultimate reviewer of the next, new starchy wonder to rotate to the front of my closet. Some of my favorites are: Uniqlo, Land's End, J. Jill and H&M. I know…quite the diverse list.

There you have it. That's how this momma stays stylish on the go. My definitive style recipe! No matter if I am in a rut or a revolution, I always find myself reaching for these standbys. And if you don't believe me…just ask my husband or my friends. I do not deviate!
