Birthday Masters.

I'm sitting here in full mom-panic-mode. Olivia is turning 5 in May and I have done zilch in terms of planning this birthday. I mean zero. (don't tell her!) As a busy mom, I was pretty proud of myself for getting the evite out. Yeah, that's because for the last five years I've been handwriting and co-designing these gorgeous birthday invitations only for them to end up in someone's trash weeks later. So, we opted to put those dollars towards the party itself. Smart!

There's only one glitch...Olivia wants an Inside Out birthday/pajama/craft/movie party. Dios mio! How am I going to pull this off? Fear not moms...I got your back!

Birthday Masters is a new website that helps families discover and book birthday party places and entertainment.

They put the "master" in party planning. What do they do? It's a regional based guide that helps you locate a venue for your kiddo's party down to rentals and entertainers. Mom life made easy!

  • You can search based on location and new birthday party vendors are added every day.
  • Birthday Masters offers a variety of party planning information for parents planning parties at home, too.

  • ­ They'll even plan kids party games and their blog provides tips on pre-­party preparation with a handy party planning timeline.

Birthday Masters is currently in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Dallas and are expanding to Chicagoland!

If you're looking for something fun to do with the family, I've got you covered! My clan and I recently had the pleasure of taking a trip to Medieval Times Chicago. Three of us had never been but I knew what was in store. Just a short stint from our house, we made a day of our excursion which might I add - completely tuckered out the little ones just in time for bed. Perfect timing for a giant glass of pinot noir come 8:00pm sharp!

Quality time with my kids is somewhat a challenge before the holidays. There's a lot of craziness and running around...and events. We usually average about two weekends of "absolutely nothing" before we turn into spinning tops. Sound familiar?

Well, recently we got to hit the "pause" button and take our kids to the circus for the first time. Honestly, we had forgotten how good it was! Or maybe as adults, we've come to appreciate what a production it is. And our kids...they loved it!

If you know me at all...you know that I am a huge October advocate. Everything about the month is perfect from food to weather to activities to the clothing! This is the last hurrah before Chicago turns into the frozen tundra. I'm not kidding and I hear we are in for a doozy this year.
