Wardrobe remix.
Amongst the list of things on my New Year’s resolution list: remixing my wardrobe. We’re all guilty of holding on to clothing we swear we’re gonna wear at some point, only to let it sit in our closet for months (sometimes YEARS) on end. We find ourselves wanting to clean out our closets but can’t seem to declutter. Time and time again we hold onto these things because we know “everything comes back around” and “trends always repeat.” But why wait for vintage to be cool again to bust out that awesome skirt you own?
Remixing clothes is now more common than ever, and it doesn’t require you to rewear the same outfit or repeat something you’ve already been spotted wearing. (Trust me, we’ve all experienced the “outfit repeater” feeling at least once.) Blouses don’t always have to be paired with a more formal pant; dresses don’t always have to be worn on their own, and booties for the spring aren’t a fashion crime!
Below is some easy inspiration to follow. Jump start your remixing game! <see my own take on remixed items above + below>:
The biggest trend of the year invites us to layer, mix, and match in a way that is unique and reflective of our own individual personality and style. Rework old favorites you already have and adore by wearing them with something new and fresh. Don’t let those pieces you once loved be placeholders in your closet. Pair your tops with an unexpected pant, or layer a turtleneck under your dress next time.
The point of it all? Invest in your existing closet and organize it in a way that you can actually see what you own. All it takes is a little time and creativity!
It was a rainy April but I am all about a fashion challenge. Rounding up my favorite looks for events ranging from WFH to Easter to grabbing tacos with the fam. Need additional links? Lemme know and Happy May!
