Shine on - styling sequins.
There’s no doubt that sequins are a show-stopper and what better way is there to ring in the New Year than with a little bit of glitz and glam? Sequins are an easy way to liven up your style for special occasions and have become easily wearable for the daytime if you know how to bring your outfit together. If you’re having trouble - look no further! Follow these three easy tips to get started.
1. Keep it simple
Sequins can be flashy enough on their own. They don’t need a super crazy styling session. If you’re wearing sequin skirts or pants, the easiest way to tone it down is by wearing a simple, crisp white blouse. This will re-direct the eye to your lower half without your top serving as a distraction. Make this your style go-to if your creatively stumped and need to head out the door, stat!
2. Cute, but make it cozy
Bringing some sparkle into your life shouldn’t be delayed until the next special occasion. If you need some daytime shine in your life, pair with a cozy sweater on top. Wear sweaters with sparkly skirts, pants, OR even layer over dresses for that “I-tried-but-not-really” effortless look. This will really give you that laid-back look while still being put together.
3. Jackets, jackets, and more jackets
This one may seem like a no brainer, but I feel like its a tip that works time and time again. Jackets are sequins’ best friend. Whether its a teddy coat, a bold blazer, or a simple leather jacket, you can’t go wrong by incorporating outerwear making this look approachable and realistic. I am a sucker for layers!
