Savoring the weekend.

The weekends are always so short aren’t they? Now more than ever we’ve been trying to start the week with a peaceful mind and a grateful heart. That means the weekends include outside time when at all possible, lots of FaceTiming, good food and the occasional nap. I know this doesn’t that different than pre-pandemic but it is mentally speaking. Now we savor the weekends, tackle projects, dress up for no reason and hug a little bit more. And there is hope. We have more of that, too because we’ve been quarantined for so long that we know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Even if that plan only gets you through this week, determining next steps and distracting your focus from the negatives is what has gotten me through the rough patches and kept me optimistically motivated.

Wardrobe remix.

Amongst the list of things on my New Year’s resolution list: remixing my wardrobe. We’re all guilty of holding on to clothing we swear we’re gonna wear at some point, only to let it sit in our closet for months (sometimes YEARS) on end. We find ourselves wanting to clean out our closets but can’t seem to declutter. Time and time again we hold onto these things because we know “everything comes back around” and “trends always repeat.” But why wait for vintage to be cool again to bust out that awesome skirt you own?

Closet staple: the camel coat

Recently I got a request from my IG fam to assist in scouting affordable and luxe camel coats. Always up for the challenge, I happily accepted the request because A. I love camel anything and B. the season is upon us. You’d be surprised how many amazing options are out there without breaking the bank. I was kind of astounded myself. Natch, my next thought was… “I need a camel coat!” But then I remembered that my husband would murder me so I chilled out and decided to help you all out instead. I am giving like that.
