Beauty review.
Let’s talk beauty. It’s been awhile hasn’t it? I’m the type of girl who opens a product and feels like she has to finish it which leads me to today’s line up of products that I am truly adoring and have been using all summer. I hate wasting product. Anyone else like that?
Would I purchase them again? Absolutely! Truth be told, the seasons are about to change so I expect a slight edit in my future but for now, let’s enjoy these summer temps before we pull out the heavy moisturizers and neck creams. Talk to me next week, that all might change!
Here’s what I am loving + why:
Kristin Ess Dry Shampoo - I have long loved Batiste but grabbed this on a whim. I like how light it is. So many brands cause icky buildup and your hair feels heavy or starchy. Not the case with this one. Find it at Target for a mere $14.
skinfx Barrier Eye Cream - I’ve been using this as my evening eye cream since March. The under eye area is so delicate and this cream is thick. It blankets my eyes for nightly repair. No scent, just a product that works. The whole collection is geared towards individuals with skin issues like rosacea, psoriasis or eczema…finally!
Alastin Gentle Cleanser - People rave about all things Alastin and I can understand why. This cleanser is 100% gentle removing all residue and makeup in one swoop. No heavy scents or harsh suds. My skin feels moisturized and clean. I bought a second for my shower.
L’Oreal Matte Lip Crayon - The truth about this discovery is that I wanted a lipstick that wouldn’t smear under my mask and I found it. This crayon works. I bought it in Strawberry Glaze which is a lovely, pinky neutral and also a red hue. This is it; look no further.
Beautycounter Charcoal Mask - This is the best charcoal mask I have ever tried? Have you ever tried those masks that are impossible to wipe off? This is NOT it! Quite the opposite which is a shocker for charcoal. Simply run washcloth under warm water and gentle wipe off. It’s amazing. My 5-minute Monday miracle and you can feel your pores and skin tighten and detox after.
Pixi by Petra Endless Shade Stick - I was gifted Copper Glaze and fell immediately in love. It lives up to its name. I also use it underneath my lip balms for a bronze-y lip stain. Pixi is so pigmented. I feel it could go head to head with some of the high end brands like MAC.
NYX Butter Balm - I bought it in Marshmallow. This is a matte chapstick which is a genius invention. It smells like a heavenly vanilla, which, if a cosmetic is going to have a scent…this is my preferred. I use this balm to layer over the Pixi Shade Stick above. It’s great alone, too because it has a natural pigment and it’s highly moisturizing.
OleHenriksen Dark Spot Toner - I was gifted a trio of products from this brand and was the most impressed with the toner. It should also be noted that OH has a signature scent that I cannot put my finger on but it is so clean and so fresh. This toner removes all residue that your cleanser might miss. Your skin will instantly feel tighter and dewy.
OleHenriksen Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer - I’ve never used a gel but I like it! It’s more lightweight which is perfect for summer weather and oil producing skin like mine. My skin felt drenched in orange goodness. I use this at night.
OleHenriksen Vitamin C Serum - This is perfect alone or layered with a moisturizer under your makeup. If you live in hot temps, this is a great moisturizer to lock in a fresh face. I really fell in love with this brand over the summer and their Vitamin C products lightened and brightened my face over time.
Do blondes really have more fun?
Maintaining this ashe-y blonde hue is an absolutely commitment. If you’re going to pursue this shade of blonde, you have to know what you’re signing up for. It’s been several years and lotsa dollars for me but I absolutely love it.
