Diner en Blanc
What’s white, chic and rosé all over? I’ll tell you! It’s Chicago’s Dîner en Blanc! Truly my favorite night of this summer and also a first for Jack and I. I’ve been hearing about it for years but this was our year to finally take part in the festivities.
What is it you ask? Happy to share…
Chicago never looked so beautiful and we had the most gorgeous weather with copious amounts of rosé sprinkled in for good measure. Where else can find a spontaneous party in the middle of the city with your friends? Dîner en Blanc is where it’s at and we will be back next year for sure. Besides, how else can we coerce our hubbies to dress in all white? It was adorable!
Savoring every last drop of summer and this is a must-see event. Similar outfit details below:
Fall is the best season to spend outdoors and with family. It’s also my favorite time of year. I refuse to let Covid cancel all of our fun activities so today I want to share some fun activities that are NOT CANCELLED. Sharing some you know and some you might not be aware of yet. I am all about new traditions.
The calendar is blowing up which means a lot of frantic running minus the QT with our little, nuclear family. You never know how much you need it until you miss it, do it and then love it. I never want to be too busy to notice when I need to stop and pump the brakes which is why our jazzy brunch at Hey Nonny came at the perfect time.
Every year I look forward to a somewhat unorthodox breast cancer event. It’s not a race. It’s not a walk. It’s not a shopping event. It’s a giant party or gala, rather, called Tickled Pink. Tickled Pink is in partnership with Bright Pink, which is a 401c3 that helps build awareness and early detection for breast cancer. Not only does this organization support the survivors but it also provides support and education for those afflicted with this nasty disease in the early stages.
I just love the magic of the final two months of the year. The uplifted moods, the music, the twinkle and the excuse to majorly blow off any diet I may have been on. You only live once, right?
Well, I have the great fortune with this blogging hobby to get first glimpses at some of the most unique venues, experiences and events and I kinda feel like it’s my job to share the good cheer so you can enjoy them with your favorite gal pals or family, too. Whatdyasay?
People always ask me where my office is located and my response is usually: EVERYWHERE. My team is never stationary and that's really the fun of what we do. Meetings, shoots, calls, TV segments, seminars...we do it all and all in the name of social media!
The opportunity to truly relax are few and far between...this applies to all of us, which is why a staycation was in order for my husband's recent birthday. I'd like to say that we do these all the time but the truth is we talk about it all the time. Not a whole lotta action behind those words. It's the thought that counts right?
If there is one thing you can count on Chicago for - it's raging mood swings when it comes to weather. It's totally insane. For example, last week I wore this "almost leather" skirt to our seminar and meetings. Yesterday it was 92 and I was wearing a sundress. I surrender. Don't I say this every year actually?
Familiar with BaubleBar? Who isn't right? Ever wonder what it was like to launch and how it all began? *raises hand* I always find these stories fascinating and today my friend Nina - the VP of Brand Marketing and also one of the original crew, is here to share the scoop on a day in the life of this accessory giant and what lies ahead. Take a seat...you're in for a sparkly treat!
The best things in life are free. Laughter being one of them - most underrated gift anyone could give you. And, it just so happens that today's Fearless Friday feature, Janet, makes me laugh constantly. I've traveled with her, soon again, I've cocktailed with her, I've had long talks with her...shoot, the only thing we haven't done is work out but we've even talked about that, too! I will tell you, Janet cares and she is very much supportive of her girls. I've observed over the years. Even with everything she is balancing...motherhood, marriage, career, blogging, philanthropy ...she always makes time for her friends. And, she will always make you laugh. That is the best trait in a friend - better than 100 lattes or 1M pairs of Gucci heels. And well heeled, she is!
It’s time to come out of hibernation. While January has been cold and gray, I’ve uncovered an amazing, suburban exhibition that is worth leaving the house for…and it’s only here through the end of March 2024. You must get tickets to the Downton Abbey Exhibition located at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. It’s open weekly from Wednesday-Sunday.
