Apps that power my life.
Hey kids - Happy Friday! Apps run my world. I can’t tell you how much time I spend on my phone trying to delegate life’s daily routines. Anything to give me more "mom free time” vs being a slave to adulting and responsibility.
It’s funny, when I met my business partner, Carolyn Jones, I noticed how much she worked on her phone and I thought it was insane. I like a big screen and a keyboard. I am extremely visual. Fast forward 17 years later…I am the one on my phone and prefer it that way. Of course, there are pro/cons to everything. But listen, apps were developed for a reason and they are to make life simpler so why not take advantage so you can spend time doing the things you actually love? Novel idea, right?
Here’s a quick round up of my ride or die apps. I am sure there are more to follow in my future but this is the current list.

What are your ride or die apps?
A podcast I recorded in June recently went live and it got me thinking. What would I tell my younger self when it comes to selecting a business partner and dividing up roles? Perhaps this does not apply to you and you’re a solopreneur. Hats off to you! No matter what, entrepreneurship is not for the weak. Today I am sharing my advice and anecdotes in hope that it helps one of you!
Happy #InternationalWomensDay to all of you! 🤍 Celebrating female entrepreneurs and my little world changers. I’m so excited for the path we have collectively carved out for the next generation. Let’s continue to be inclusive, use our voices and do great things. 🤍
Lucky doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel to be their mom.
First let me say, not all businesses need a blueprint or a business plan. Sometimes you just have to take a good idea and dive in. Second, let me say that this capsule is small but the message is bigger than life. It’s important. It needs reinforcement. I need your support. It means something very special to me and the most important pillar of all…this capsule is intended to give back to the community. I can’t do that without your help though.

I have to get something off my chest. It’s been bothering me for awhile and it involves the blogging/influencer community that I happen to be a part of. I love it for so many reasons but this year, like so many of us, has been a real shit show of vanity metrics, cheating the system, inauthenticity, a lack of regulation and overall head scratching for me.
In March, before the pandemic blew up, I went on a retreat of sorts. It was a personal retreat you could say. I spoke to my partner after getting accepted into the Female Founder Collective and we both agreed that this was a great networking opportunity. Even with the early news of Covid, I anxiously packed my bags and flew to New York.
I’ve been in the interviewing hot seat for many many years. Conversely, I, too have interviewed for several jobs before launching my own company. While times have changed, I wanted to share a few tips that will actually help you land the job of your dreams. It’s possible! Call me old-fashioned but these timeless tips take very little time and make ALL the difference.
Familiar with BaubleBar? Who isn't right? Ever wonder what it was like to launch and how it all began? *raises hand* I always find these stories fascinating and today my friend Nina - the VP of Brand Marketing and also one of the original crew, is here to share the scoop on a day in the life of this accessory giant and what lies ahead. Take a seat...you're in for a sparkly treat!
The best things in life are free. Laughter being one of them - most underrated gift anyone could give you. And, it just so happens that today's Fearless Friday feature, Janet, makes me laugh constantly. I've traveled with her, soon again, I've cocktailed with her, I've had long talks with her...shoot, the only thing we haven't done is work out but we've even talked about that, too! I will tell you, Janet cares and she is very much supportive of her girls. I've observed over the years. Even with everything she is balancing...motherhood, marriage, career, blogging, philanthropy ...she always makes time for her friends. And, she will always make you laugh. That is the best trait in a friend - better than 100 lattes or 1M pairs of Gucci heels. And well heeled, she is!
My agency is moving towards it’s 10th anniversary. (@oakstsocial) I’ve been waking up frequently wondering, “how did I/we get here?” Tbh, it’s a bit of a blur.
